London, the capital of England and the United Kingdom, offers a plethora of tourist attractions. We’ve produced a list of five must-see streets in London, which is well-known for its castles, ceremonies, numerous museums and galleries, and streets.
Oxford Street
It is one of the most significant roads in the country. With half a million people every day, it has become known as Europe’s busiest shopping strip. It is a significant development to have recovered from being one of the most bombed streets during WWII to become one of the most visited streets today. The shops on the Boulevard include both expensive and modest establishments. In addition, the Christmas lights that illuminate the street from mid-November to January should be added to your must-see list.
Baker Street
If you’ve read the Sherlock Holmes books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, one of the most well-known authors of English literature, or if you’ve seen movies and TV productions based on these stories, you’re probably familiar with this street. If you are a Sherlock Holmes lover, you can visit the museum.
10 Downing Street
This street is home to the official mansion that has hosted England’s presidents since 1735. Unfortunately, it is not open to visitors due to its political significance, but its proximity to Buckingham Palace and Churchill’s War Rooms allows it to complete your day.
Brick Lane
It is famed for its vintage boutiques, street art, and wonderful food, and it is also known as “Banglatown” because it is the center of the Bangladeshi community. On Sundays, you may explore Brick Lane Market and eat street food.
The Strand
This historic street, located near to the River Thames, derives its name from the Old English word “Strond,” which means “bank of the river.” From the 12th to the 17th centuries, the street was well-known for housing British upper-class aristocrats. It is home to the Twinnings’ Tea House, which has been on the street since 1706, as well as England’s oldest restaurant. While on the street, we recommend seeing a play at the Adelphi Theater, if one is available.
In addition to seeing these streets, if you wish to study in England, one of the world’s top education countries, N&N’s overseas education consultant will help you realize your dream of studying abroad with experienced assistance.
