Role of the Department of Education (DE) Australia in International Recruitment
The Australian Department of Education (DE) oversees, regulates, and supports international student enrolment across schools, VET, and universities.
How DE helps in recruitment:
- Policy & Regulation → sets the framework for schools to accept international students under the ESOS Act (Education Services for Overseas Students).
- CRICOS Registration → approves schools to enroll international students (only DE-approved CRICOS institutions can issue CoEs).
- Promotion of Australian Education → DE works closely with Austrade and initiatives like Study Australia to promote Australia globally.
- Data & Research → DE publishes market insights on source countries, trends, and student visa updates (very useful for agents).
- Assurance of Quality & Compliance → ensures schools maintain high standards, so agents/parents have confidence.
How to Approach (as an Agent/Recruiter)
